I forgot the best part of the story!

So I forgot the most entertaining part of our camping trip, and the reason I said we ran into some troubles... we had looked up the weather and knew it was supposed to get to down to about 40 degrees at night, and to be honest we probably weren't even fully prepared for that temperature. Well, we spent the coldest night of our lives in the tent, my feet were literally numb the whole night, and Mark woke up shivering, at this point we had already decided we were going to cut our two night trip down to one...and thought we were huge whimps because of it. When we woke up, and were tidying up some dishes from the night before we found a shallow dish that had water in it the night before...and it was a large ice cube!! We were quite pleased to discover that it had been at most 32 degrees at night to freeze the water... and therefore we are slightly less whimpy than we thought!

Camping in the Laguna Mountains

We went for a little belated birthday trip for Mark, camping in the mountains of East San Diego County. We had some troubles, but overall it was a fun trip!

On hike number 2, once again, my aim is terrible!
The awesome origami dishes we got for Christmas last year from Mark's parents, love them!
This was the destination of our second hike, it was literally an oasis of greenery and flowers in the middle of what looks like mountain desert, it was pretty cool!
Our little tent underneath some serious trees.
Crazy clouds.

It took him quite a few tries...but Mark got a few pretty sweet woodpecker photos, they LOVED the trees around our tent!

Unwanted House guests!

Our weekend started off quite well; we had a nice little Wii and Sushi night on Friday, then yesterday a BBQ with some of Mark's work friends. Sadly, today we discovered some unfortunate and very unwelcome house guests. Tiny little brown bugs that sort of look like walking pieces of sand... have invaded our pantry! Everyone comments on how nice it must be to have such a large walk-in pantry, but we have now learned that it can be quite a daunting task to de-bug such a large pantry. Wish us luck in our battle, so far I think the score is: bugs 20, Mark and Allison 0 (seeing as how they have forced us to throw out half of our dry food and turn our entire kitchen upside down.)
We are excited for next weekend though, look for a fabulous post on our awesome mini camping adventure in the Laguna Mountains!
